VHG – The Kingdom At Work – Part 3: The Whole Life Project

VHG DISCUSSION: THE KINGDOM AT WORK – PART 3
THE WHOLE LIFE PROJECT

The Project Objective:

Summary:
Scripture reveals God’s desire to have our whole life set apart and preserved blameless until Jesus’ return. The apostle Paul writes, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,” [1 Thess. 5:22]. This is the real work of the church; a work embedded in the truth that the needs of people at every stage of life can and must be met. The Whole Life Project is a collective Rhema initiative, drawing on all voices to develop strategies, systems, and practical ways to meet the needs of people throughout their lifespans. This is a large and audacious endeavor but one that re-positions the church as the most relevant body on the earth, bearing witness to this truth, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus,” [Phil. 4:19]. Let’s start the conversation.

Discussion Questions:

  • According to Proverbs 22:6 & Matthew 19:14-15, children play a significant role in the kingdom of God. Start a conversation about the whole-life needs of our children from their entry into this world until their full preparation to tackle the world as young adults. What are their holistic needs, spirit, soul and body?
  • According to 1 Cor. 7:20, everyone has a calling in life, whether they are singles, married, or divorced, “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.” Start a conversation about the whole life needs of those in their standing season, whether singles, newly married, young families, career focused, or otherwise, what are their holistic needs, spirit, soul and body?
  • According to Leviticus 19:32, we are called to “rise up before the hoary head and honour the face of the old man.” Start a conversation about the whole life needs of those in their final sitting season. What are the holistic needs of our beloved seniors, spirit, soul and body?

Prayer: Father, Equip Us To Meet Your Mandate For Whole Life Care, In Jesus Name.
