UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM
- Truths About The Kingdom Of God:
- Summary:
The kingdom of God can be summed up in these words: “The culture of heaven flowing
from the hearts of God’s people and expressing itself in this world.” This is not a new
concept; rather, it is a restoration of the Genesis mandate, a mandate that
encapsulates humanity as God’s image bearers, all creation as our dominion area to be
stewarded, with God at the centre of all relationships and all worship. This is the
message that Jesus came to teach, to sacrifice His life for, and left to be established by
His followers, the church, until His return. In the words of Jesus, “Occupy until I come,”
[Luke 19:13]. - Discussion Questions:
- According to Matthew 5:1-16, Romans 14:17-18, and Galatians 5:22-23, the
culture of heaven is expressed through non-negotiable inner qualities such as
humility, righteousness, mercy, purity, love, peace, joy, and others. Discuss
concrete ways that we as believers can ensure that these values are being
established in the world. - Daniel 2:44-45 and Revelation 11:15 speak of the kingdoms of this world and
their ultimate subjugation to the kingdom of God. What are some of these
