Introduction:

A. Christ is the Head of the Church:

• The Head of the Church is Christ (Col. 1:18, Eph. 1:22, Eph. 5:23)

B. The Church is the Body of Christ:

• The Church is the Body of Christ. (Eph. 1:22-23)

C. We are Members of the Body of Christ:

• You are Members of the Body of Christ. (Rom. 12:4-5, Eph. 5:30-32)

D. You and Christ are One:

• It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20) *
• You are One with Christ. (John 17:21-23)
• Christ works through me. (Philippians 2:13)

➔ The Body of Christ (which is the Church) is Jesus continuing His ministry on earth.

1. Christ’s Leader – The Father via The Spirit
   ➢ The Steps of a Righteous man/woman are ordered by God. (Psalms 37:23-24)
   ➢ My Sheep know my voice and will not follow another voice. (John 10:4-5)
   ➢ The Words that I speak, I hear from my Father. (John 12:49-50)
   ➢ The Actions that I take, I see my Father doing them. (Psalm 127:1)
2. Christ’s Mission – The Father’s Business
   ➢ To be About the Father’s Business. (Luke 2:49)
   ➢ To Glorify the Father (John 17:1-4)
   ➢ To Manifest the Kingdom (Romans 8:19)
   ➢ To Do the Father’s Will (John 6:38-40)
   ➢ To Deliverance the Captives from Evil (Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:18)
3. Christ’s War – The Battle of Faith
   ➢ The Kingdom of God suffers violence (Matthew 11:12)
   ➢ The Weapons of our warfare are Spiritual (Ephesians 6:10-18)
   ➢ The Good Fight of Faith (1 Timothy 6:12)
   ➢ The Victory is in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57, Colossians 2:15)
